Missing Teeth? Your Options for Restoring Function and Confidence in Camberley

At Able Denture and Implant Clinic in Camberley, Surrey, many of our patients come to us with some of their natural teeth still in place but gaps elsewhere in their mouth. Whether it’s missing lower front teeth, like the gentleman in our image, upper front teeth or back teeth missing on the left or right, top or bottom, these gaps can cause more than just cosmetic concerns.

Missing teeth affect:

  • Your bite – chewing becomes uneven, leading to jaw strain and possible joint issues.

  • Your remaining teeth – extra stress can cause them to wear down, shift, or loosen.

  • Your confidence – gaps in your smile can make you feel self-conscious.

The good news is that there are several effective ways to replace missing teeth, restore balance, and protect your long-term oral health.

1. Acrylic Partial Denture

An acrylic denture is a removable appliance that can replace one or more missing teeth.

Pros:

  • More affordable and straightforward solution

  • Easy to clean and adjust

  • Good for short- or medium-term use

Cons:

  • More likely to break compared to other materials

  • Can feel bulkier in the mouth

  • Removable, so not a fixed option

2. Chrome Partial Denture

A chrome (metal-based) denture is thinner, stronger, and more comfortable than acrylic.

Pros:

  • Durable and long-lasting

  • Lighter and more comfortable than acrylic

  • Easy to remove and clean

Cons:

  • Still a removable appliance

  • Higher cost than acrylic dentures

3. Ceramic Bridge

A dental bridge is a fixed option that uses the neighbouring teeth as anchors.

Pros:

  • Fixed in place – feels and functions like natural teeth

  • Very aesthetic and natural-looking

  • Restores bite and confidence effectively

Cons:

  • Neighbouring teeth may need to be prepared

  • Not always possible depending on the health of surrounding teeth

4. Dental Implants

Dental implants replace missing teeth with a permanent solution that functions just like natural teeth.

Pros:

  • Fixed, secure, and long-lasting

  • Helps preserve jawbone and facial structure

  • Doesn’t affect or rely on neighbouring teeth

  • Excellent aesthetics and function

Cons:

  • Higher initial cost compared to dentures

  • Requires surgery and healing time

  • Suitability depends on bone health (we assess this with our in-house CBCT scanner)

5. Full Denture Options

For patients who are missing all their teeth in the upper or lower jaw, we also provide full dentures. These can be made in acrylic or combined with implant support for extra stability.

Because we have a dental laboratory on-site, every denture we provide is custom-made and manufactured in-house by skilled technicians working closely with our clinicians. This ensures a precise fit, natural appearance, and quick turnaround for adjustments or repairs.

Choosing the Right Solution

Every smile is unique. That’s why we offer free consultations at Able Denture and Implant Clinic. We’ll take the time to discuss your needs, examine your bite, and explain which options might work best for you.

If you’re considering implants, you can see our experienced implant dentist, Dr Nick Baker, who uses a CBCT scanner to assess your bone and anatomy to confirm whether implants are right for you.

Restore Your Smile with Confidence

Whether you’re missing one tooth, several teeth, or even a full set, we have the experience, technology, and in-house laboratory to provide the perfect solution for you. From acrylic and chrome dentures to bridges and implants, our goal is to restore not only your smile but also your confidence and bite for the long term.
